Things we must change
As a nation we made a terrible mistake. We voted with our emotions rather than our brains. We became lemmings,
and we ran off the cliff. We became mesmerized by a very intelligent man, who was also a terrific speaker.
He talked about change and a new direction for our nation. We were worn out because of the war in Iraq and we
were worried about a possible war with Iran. And we were also very concerned about Pakistan and Afghanistan. He
spoke about change and about bringing peace to the world. We noticed, but did not hold him accountable for some of
his statements about socialism and progressivism. As a nation, we were naïve enough to overlook statements that he
made, and we knew, or should have known that many of these statements originated with those whose philosophies were
from our sworn enemies. We rolled over in front of a well-designed and perfectly executed campaign whose goal it
was to take over United States of America.
The nation's media was complacent and did a very poor job of carrying out its responsibilities to inform the
populace. The press completely abdicated all responsibilities of investigative journalism. Just a few members of
the press did inquire about Mr. Obama's birth, youth, education, families, finances, employment, associates,
philosophy, plans and abilities.
When questions were raised as a result of these investigations they were immediately met with forms of
censorship, such as attributing these efforts to racism and bullying. It turns out that these lonely journalists
had been on to something that was material and could easily become a major threat to our nation.
As Americans our first impulse is to smile and give the benefit of the doubt. As Americans, we do not want to
lose that friendly demeanor, but we are beginning to learn that Teddy Roosevelt was correct when he said. “Tread
softly but carry a big stick”. Upon analysis, it is easy to see that our nation has been successful because of our
quick smile, and at the same time we have maintained a determination to stick up for our individual rights. That
quality made us the “go to” nation in the world.
Our founders get the credit for understanding, protecting, and demanding, that this new nation would be built on
principles that developed over centuries. They recognized that democracies had not been successful at any time in
history. Democracies are a form of mob (majority) rule. When the citizens realize that they can vote themselves
benefits from the public largesse they vote themselves into economic ruin. Our founders developed a new
organization, called a democratic republic. The United States of America has prospered because the founders
realized that when the energies of the citizens were unfettered and that those energies and knowledge could be
implemented to generate economic benefits for the citizens, the citizens became very successful and as a result the
nation prospered in ways that heretofore had only been imagined.
President Obama has not demonstrated that he has more than a shallow understanding of economics. He has
appointed to the highest offices men that have demonstrated either lacks of knowledge or disdain for our system.
These men have concentrated more on social engineering and strong financial management.
The Congress has done our nation a terrific disservice. The evidence supports the widely held observation that
life in Washington is more fun than life in their home districts and therefore the main occupation of members of
Congress seems to be doing what is necessary to win the next election so they can continue to live in Washington.
In many respects there is no reason to return any of them for another term. Certainly we should not return any that
voted for the healthcare (ObamaCare) bill, and we should question in depth each and all about any wisdom they
gained in this session.
Take Charge Generation has a litmus test for every candidate running for election to federal office in the
November 2010 elections. (We will use this test in each and every federal election from here on) The test will
offer the candidate an opportunity to publicly attest to his, or her, commitment of loyalty to the founding
documents of this nation, and his, or her, promise to not deviate from the pledge. We will offer a pledge card with
several specific questions and opportunities for comment, ask for their signature, have the signature witnessed,
dated, and we will publish the pledge on the TakeChargeGeneraton.com website.
Each candidate, irrespective of party, will be afforded this opportunity.
In the fall of 2012, we will have a social media Take Charge Generation network that will be free for all of our
supporters. We will need volunteers in each state, and hopefully in each congressional district. The network will
have access to our site, their state site, their congressional district site, and privacy as regards local matters.
It will really be hundreds of sites within our main site. Now you are starting to realize why we will need
financial help. This is not an accurate example of our pledge card, but it is representative of the card that will
be developed.
